Children at a school created a "powerful" art installation to honour fallen soldiers.
Each child at St Andrew’s CE Primary School in Ramsbottom crafted their own soldier to form a regiment at the school's front entrance.
The school also participated in a Remembrance service at the church, featuring "poignant war poems" and a trumpet player performing The Last Post.
During the service, children were encouraged to "reflect on the past and be hopeful for a better future".
One child said: "I was thinking about my great-grandfather as the trumpet was played.
"It made me feel sad but I am going to make the world a better place."
The school's history club researched Gordon Geldard, a soldier and former pupil who died in 1917.
The children explored his life, from his time at the school to his death, sharing their findings with the school community during the service.
