Four people were given fines for using fireworks in an anti-social manner in Clitheroe.
On Saturday, officers said they came across a group of males whilst on patrol who were setting off fireworks from the castle grounds onto Castle Street.
Local police officers pursued them and eventually located them on the Castle Grounds, near to the skate park in bushes.
A police spokesperson said: “The males were given tickets and told to leave the area. During the search one of the males discretely hid a car key and this was located on the floor by officers.
“With the help of CCTV ,the males ignored the advice from police and were seen to walk through the town centre and made their way to their getaway car.
“The males sat in the car and could not start it due to having no key. In addition, the driver did not have suitable insurance and the car was seized.
In recent weeks residents have made a number of reports over fireworks being used recklessly.
