The best counties in England have been revealed by The Telegraph and Lancashire is one that features in the list, but how does it rank against the rest?

Helping its readers choose the best English county for a staycation, the newspaper said it “compared the 48 contenders across 33 criteria over four main categories: Natural Wonders (e.g. lakes, forests, mountains, beaches), History and Culture (e.g. museums, castles, cathedrals), Luxuries (e.g. hotels, spas, restaurants), and Peace and Quiet (e.g. population density, dark skies).”

While Lancashire didn’t rank high enough to be featured in the top 10, it’s well within the top 30 as it sits in 22nd place.
