The festive season is a time where lots of traditions are followed and one of those might be a trip to the theatre with loved ones.

Christmas shows at Blackpool Grand Theatre in 2024

Introducing its Christmas programme, the theatre said: “Blackpool Grand is decking the stalls with a sleigh full of spectacular shows to bring festive cheer and magical family memories this November and December.

“From toe-tapping thrills to marvellous live music nights, a heartwarming brass band bringing classic carols and cheer, and hilarious pantomime performances; the Grand is pulling out all the (jingle) bells and whistles to make this the best Christmas ever!”

The feel-good, Irish-inspired theatre show Fairytale of New York is back on Saturday, November 16 “with an even bigger production for 2024”, the theatre said.

Singers, musicians and dancers will perform festive favourites from Driving Home for Christmas to Oh Holy Night and The Fairytale of New York, along with some of the top Irish sing-along songs including The Galway Girl, The Irish Rover, Dirty Old Town and The Black Velvet Band.

Your favourite festive songs will be performed live by world-class musicians, star vocalists and world championship dancers and you’ll be encouraged to get out of your seat and dance in the aisles.

Fans of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat can look forward to a colourful Christmas as four singers from the global hit show come together for an evening of musical theatre and jingle-bell magic in Dreamcoat Stars A Musical Christmas on Saturday, November 23.

Blackpool Grand Theatre’s family pantomime this year is Cinderella and you can book your tickets to see it with shows from Friday December 6, 2024 to Sunday January 5, 2025.

The Grand Christmas Concert will bring “joy and song to all” on Monday, December 16 and it will be hosted by radio DJ and popular local celebrity Hayley Kay.

The theatre added: “The much-loved local voice of BBC Radio Lancashire and Blackpool’s Coastal Radio will help Poulton-le-Fylde Brass Band celebrate the season of goodwill in their annual rousing style and it’s sure to be a fabulous festive treat for all the family!”
