A MasterChef professional has been reflecting on his first month at the helm of his new East Lancashire restaurant which he says has 'captured the hearts' of the community.

It's been just over a month since chef Matt Willdigg opened OH! Pizza in Longridge, and residents have already 'fallen in love' with the place, he said.

The restaurant offers a mix of street food-inspired small plates and Neapolitan-style pizzas.

OH! Pizza has been receiving 'enthusiastic feedback' for its 'welcoming ambience, inventive menu, and dedication to quality.'

Mr Willdigg, who is originally from Lichfield, aimed to create a casual dining experience that features 'expertly crafted dishes' made from locally sourced ingredients.

The freshly prepared small plates and wood-fired pizzas have been 'a hit' among diners.

Mr Willdigg said: "The support we’ve received has been incredible.

"It’s been a joy to see guests connect with what we’re creating, and their feedback has been inspiring.

"This past month has shown us that there’s a real appetite for OH! Pizza’s unique approach, and we’re already looking toward new ways to grow and bring this experience to more communities."

In addition to the restaurant, the brand's events arm, catering to private gatherings, has also seen steady growth.

Mr Willdigg is no stranger to success, having worked with Angela Hartnett at her Michelin-starred restaurant Murano.

He is eager to build on OH! Pizza's success in Longridge and plans to expand the brand to new locations in the future, including one near his hometown.

OH! Pizza hopes to continue thriving, with Mr Willdigg's future growth plans set to make it a 'beloved fixture' beyond Longridge.
