Blackburn with Darwen's crime rate increased in September after dropping for the previous two months before that, figures show.
Data from police.uk shows there were 1,659 recorded crimes in the borough in September, an increase of just over five per cent from the 1,579 crimes recorded in August.
Violence and sexual offences topped the list ahead of anti-social behaviour which was the top recorded crime in August, with violence offences going up by more than 20 per cent.

Using the data, it is possible to map exactly where each crime took place in the borough and determine how many instances of each crime there was.
Of the 14 different crimes listed in the data, there were eight increases and six decreases.
Statistically, the biggest increase was in 'other crime' which went up by more than 50 per cent.
The offences changed as follows:
- Violence and sexual offences - 473 (Aug) - 572 (Sep) - up 20.93 per cent
- Anti-social behaviour - 498 (Aug) - 428 (Sep) - down 14.05 per cent
- Shoplifting - 98 (Aug) - 119 (Sep) - up 21.42 per cent
- Criminal damage and arson - 116 (Aug) - 111 (Sep) - down 4.31 per cent
- Vehicle crime - 98 (Aug) - 90 (Sep) - down 8.16 per cent
- Public order - 76 (Aug) - 87 (Sep) - up 14.47 per cent
- Other theft - 73 (Aug) - 77 (Sep) - up 5.47 per cent
- Burglary - 40 (Aug) - 50 (Sep) - up 25 per cent
- Drugs - 27 (Aug) - 39 (Sep) - up 44.44 per cent
- Possession of weapons - 20 (Aug) - 12 (Sep) - down 40 per cent
- Robbery - 16 (Aug) - 10 (Sep) - down 37.5 per cent
- Bike theft - 0 (Aug) - 5 (Sep)
- Theft from person - 8 (Aug) - 4 (Sep) - down 50 per cent
Elsewhere in East Lancashire, only one other borough recorded an increase in crime in September.
Ribble Valley's rate went up by 8.63 per cent, climbing from 278 in August to 302 in September.
The biggest drop was in Pendle, which went down by 15.95 per cent from 926 to 781, while in Rossendale the rate dropped by 5.06 per cent from 592 to 562.
In Burnley, September's rate was a drop of 4.62 per cent from 1,211 crimes to 1,155, and lastly in Hyndburn there was a slight drop of 0.60 per cent from 984 to 978.
