A five-year-old boy was taken to hospital following a crash in Oswaldtwistle last night.
Police were called to Union Road at around 5.30pm on Friday (November 8) following reports of a crash between a car and a pedestrian.
They have now confirmed a boy, aged five, was taken to hospital with injuries to his leg and head.
He remains in hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-changing.
The road was closed for several hours between John Street and Simpson Street due to the crash.
It is understood the road has since reopened.
A police spokesperson said: "At around 5.30pm on Friday, November 8, we were called to reports of a collision on Union Road, Oswaldtwistle between a car and a pedestrian.
"A five-year-old boy was taken to hospital with injuries to his leg and head. He remains in hospital at present. Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life changing.
"Our thoughts are with him and his family at this time."
Police also confirmed there have been no arrests in connection with the incident at this time.
