“At least one” shop in Pendle sold fireworks to an underage child, according to police.
Offices received reports of shops selling fireworks to underage youths.
Working with Trading Standards, police discovered “at least one of those shop” failed the test and sold fireworks to 15-year-olds.
Investigations are now ongoing.
A police spokesperson said: “We received a large amount of intel from our residents across the Pendle area for shops selling fireworks to underage youths.
“We of course take this intel very seriously. We reached out to Trading Standards who have targeted numerous shops from your intel and have found at least one of those shops to have failed the test and sold fireworks to the 15-year-olds.
“Investigations are now ongoing by Trading Standards. Should there be a prosecution I will update you further. Thank you all for taking the time to report these shops to us.”
