A Blackburn road used to access a health centre and a mosque is closed to traffic due to resurfacing.
Work is taking place on Troy Street and Baywood Street this week and there is no access for traffic between 8am and 6pm.
The work which began on Tuesday is expected to last five days.
Residents and those using Masjid E-Anisul Islam, the Shifa Surgery, Brookhouse Primary School and Bangor Street Community Centre are being asked to park elsewhere or use Calder Street.
A Blackburn with Darwen Council Highways team notice to residents and users read: “Emergency access through the site will be maintained at all times.
“We would ask your understanding and cooperation to ensure the works are carried out safely and to remove all parked vehicles from the works areas between 8am and 6pm.”
The road had deteriorated in recent years with large sections of the surface worn out. The resurfacing work comes after other roads in the borough were also fixed.
Most notably, West Park Road which leads to Queen Elizabeth Grammar School (QEGS) has been resurfaced.
The borough has also seen main roads and side street lines re-painted.
On Whalley Range, the section close to Whalley New Road is still closed to all traffic.
