Two students from Bacup & Rawtenstall Grammar School Sixth Form have been selected for the Financial Times Student Advocate Programme.
Year 12 pupils, Imashi (Akshika) Perera and Jackson Chen, will spend four months working alongside the Financial Times (FT) as Student Advocates.
Their roles will involve raising awareness of the FT among their classmates and developing ideas to increase the publication's relevance to young people.
The pair will be mentored throughout their placement, maintaining regular digital communication with the FT Schools team and participating in an online discussion forum with other global students.
Imashi said: "This is an incredible opportunity to learn and grow, and I can’t wait to see how it will shape my future."
Jackson said: "I am looking forward to collaborating with others and building transferable skills.
"It's a great honour to have been selected for this programme."
James Johnstone, principal at Bacup & Rawtenstall Grammar School, said: "We take great pride in students who step into roles like these, investing in their futures and exemplifying the values our school stands for.
"As Student Advocates, Imashi and Jackson are not only excellent representatives for our school and Sixth Form, they are also paving the way for future students to embrace similar opportunities."
