A walker had to be saved by the mountain rescue team after getting stuck in a bog, near Chipping.
On Sunday (November 3), the emergency services were called to Burnslack Fell by a man who was waist-deep in the mud and unable to move.
The police and members of the Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team tied a rope around the man and freed him from the bog.
The man received medical care and food.
A spokesperson for Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team said: “At 2.30pm on Sunday (November 3) we received a call from Lancashire Police to assist a walker who was stuck in a bog and unable to move.
“Team members quickly made their way up Burnslack Fell near Chipping and located the walker who was waist-deep in the mud.
"After securing the gentleman with a rope, we freed him from the bog and then carried out a medical assessment.
"After some food and warming up, the walker was able to walk down the fell to be checked over by an awaiting ambulance.
“The team would like to thank the local farmer who kindly helped us, and we hope the walker is back out on the fells again soon.”
