Darwen Town Hall will be shut today, the council has announced.
The historic civic hub in the town's Croft Street on November 5 will be closed due to urgent work required on its Information Technology (IT) infrastructure.
A Blackburn with Darwen Council spokesperson said: "As we are reliant on network connectivity to support our residents, the reception area will be closed on this day.
"Booked appointments have already been re-arranged.
"Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
"Normal service will be resumed from 8.45am on Wednesday, November 6.
"If you have an urgent enquiry, please do contact our friendly Customer Services team on 01254 585585.
"Alternatively, Blackburn Town Hall will be open if a drop-in service is required.
"Thank you for your understanding."
