A top chef is the latest to join a stellar group of Taste Lancashire Ambassadors.

Tim Allen, chef of SŌ-LŌ, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Aughton, is now part of Marketing Lancashire’s group of Taste Lancashire Ambassadors.

The group consists of chefs from Michelin-star venues, award-winning gastro pubs, and restaurants in Lancashire.

They aim to raise the county’s food and drink sector profile and attract more visitors.

Mr Allen opened SŌ-LŌ, his first solo venture, in 2021, during a challenging time for the hospitality sector, and 17 months later, he was awarded his fourth Michelin star for SŌ-LŌ.

He has been featured in 'major food guides', in Top 50 Gastropubs and Top 100 Restaurant lists, and also competed on the BBC’s Great British Menu.

Speaking about his new role, Mr Allen said: "I’m very happy to join this impressive group of chefs with the aim of putting Lancashire firmly on every food lover's radar and to help support the county’s wealth of exceptional producers.

"I have always appreciated and respected those who nurture, grow and produce the amazing ingredients that we as chefs then take to the table."
