A man suffered burns in a house explosion in Preston overnight.
Emergency services were called at 10.20pm on Saturday to Gillett Street, to a report of a gas explosion where they found significant damage to the house.
A man suffered burn injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains.
An investigation is being launched to establish the cause and circumstances that led to the suspected gas explosion.
A Lancashire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "At 10:20pm fire engines from Preston, Bamber Bridge, and Fulwood, along with the Urban Search and Rescue Team attended an explosion on Gillett Street, Preston.
"Firefighters monitored the situation and worked with Cadent Gas to make the scene safe. One casualty was conveyed to hospital by North West Ambulance Service and firefighters were in attendance for several hours.
"The cause of the explosion is under investigation."
A police spokesperson said: "A small number of surrounding properties were evacuated.
"A joint investigation will be launched in due course with our colleagues from the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service to establish the cause and circumstances that led to the suspected gas explosion.
"Any information, please contact 101 - quoting log 1500 of 2 November."
