Blackburn’s family-run Jaan’s Restaurant is set to launch a new restaurant in Preston.

The restaurant will open on New Hall Lane, opposite the Texaco petrol station, later this month serving a mix of traditional curries and Asian cuisine.

It will be the third Jaan’s to open following a launch in Bolton on the corner of Blackburn Road and Waters Meeting Road last year. The Blackburn Jaan’s is based off the corner of Charlotte Street in the heart of Brookhouse.

The Preston restaurant, which will seat 120 people, is part of the Jaan’s brand co-run by brothers Saadullah and Hamdullah Waseem.

Saad said: “We are looking forward to welcoming people to the latest Jaan’s to launch in Lancashire.

“It is great location for us on the main road and we are hoping to bring our famous food to a whole new set of customers.

“We do get people from Preston to Blackburn all the time and thought it would be great to open in the city.”

The new Halal Monitoring Committee (HMC) certified Jaan’s will be based on the spot of the former Steakhouse.

Saad said: “We have had to do a bit of work and some rebranding.

“We will have 60 seats downstairs and a further 60 upstairs. I don’t think there is anything similar to us in the city so we are hoping to bring something new.”

The restaurant is famous for its ‘tawas’, which includes a variety of starters and main meals on one large circular tray. This summer, the Blackburn branch also launched an Asian breakfast buffet on weekends.

Saad added: “We have a great menu and something for everyone. We have a good customer base with people hosting their special events and parties at the restaurant regularly.

“We can’t wait to open in Preston.”
