Residents have been warned to be vigilant and keep their car doors locked after a man was spotted trying car door handles in Blackburn.
The man was captured on CCTV shared with the Lancashire Telegraph by a resident on Stansfeld Street earlier this week, in the early hours of October 28.
The video shows the man walking up to several cars parked on a driveway and jiggling the handles before walking off without any luck.
Cllr Mahfooz Hussain (Labour, Blackburn Central) had some words of advice for residents in the area.
He said: "We want all residents to keep their cars safe and to make sure they don't leave any valuables inside the car, and make sure all doors are locked.
"They should park where they can see the car from their window.
"This has been reported in many other wards too, people checking doors. People need to be vigilant and make sure they park in light somewhere, not in back alleys or anything."
On Wednesday (October 30) Lancashire Police confirmed a Blackburn man had been arrested in Great Harwood for similar offences of vehicle interference.
It has not been established if those offences and those seen in the video are connected in any way.
However, the police did share some advice and advised people how to report such incidents.
A spokesperson said: "Our advice remains to remove valuables from vehicles and to keep them locked.
"Report suspicious behaviour to the police - if you believe a crime is in progress or has just occurred, call 999."
