Update: Disruption has been cleared
Disruption on the railway line through East Lancashire is expected until around 1pm due to a broken down train in Burnley.
The defective train is at Burnley Manchester Road on the line heading towards Blackpool North.
Trains are able to run towards York through Blackburn and Accrington then on through West Yorkshire.
However, trains heading the other way towards Blackpool will instead terminate at Hebden Bridge.
Stations between Hebden Bridge and Blackpool in that direction (Burnley Manchester Road, Accrington, Blackburn, Preston, Kirkham & Wesham, Poulton-le-Fylde) will not be served.
Services on the Blackburn to Headbolt Lane line will start/terminate at Manchester Victoria and will not call at stations between Manchester and Blackburn in both directions.
Ticket acceptance for Northern passengers is in place with Transpennine Express between Manchester and Leeds/York in both directions.
Road transport is also being provided between Hebden Bridge-Blackburn and Rochdale-Blackburn in both directions.
A 9am bus departure from Hebden Bridge will be calling at Burnley Manchester Road, Accrington, Blackburn and Preston.
Journey times will be extended by around an hour on rail replacement transport.
