Police in Hyndburn recorded 19 speeding offences yesterday (October 31) as part of a day of cracking down on motoring offences.
Officers carried out speed enforcement in Accrington, Oswaldtwistle and Clayton-le-Moors, catching 19 drivers with tickets to be sent out in the post.
Three static checksites were also deployed around Accrington and Great Harwood.
Together with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, officers issued eight immediate prohibitions and three delayed prohibitions to unsafe vehicles.
Five fixed penalty tickets for a lack of MOT were also issued along with seatbelt offences and drivers being breathalysed.
In addition, the county commercial vehicle unit went around the borough looking at HGVs on the easterly bypass, the M65 and other arterial routes, with 17 being stopped and checked.
