A Coronation Street legend will turn on the Christmas lights in Colne this year, joined by a Britain's Got Talent star.
Colne Town Council will be putting on a free day of family-friendly activities on Saturday, November 30, including live stage shows and musical performances.
The event will consist of free activities such as face painting, donkey rides, Punch & Judy shows, Santa’s Grotto, and a reindeer town trail.
There will also be a snowboard simulator, fun fair rides and a large Christmas market.
It will culminate in the main event of the lights switch on, with two special guests booked to hit the button and turn on this year's displays.
Performances will start at around 12pm from Encore Dance School, the Accrington Pipe Band, and Pendle Academy of Dance & Performing Arts.
There will also be live music from Andrew Gilmour and Claudia Thompson, as well as further shows from Stage Door Youth Theatre, Pendle Hippodrome Youth Theatre, and The Interactive Grinch Show, all hosted by Gavin Young.
The event will also see the return of the torch-lit procession led by Santa in his sleigh, all followed by an on-stage festive finale with a Frozen sing-a-long with special guests magician Jack Rhodes, Britain’s Got Talent 2024 runner-up, and Antony Cotton, who plays Sean in Coronation Street.

Nathan Cutler, the council’s events officer, said: "Colne Christmas Light Switch On is a fantastic event which brings the whole town together to kick start the festive season! We have a fantastic lineup of free activities for everyone to enjoy!"
A road closure will be in place to accommodate the event, with the A56 closed from the junction with Windy Bank and Market Street down to the traffic lights on Market Street from 8pm on November 29 until 11pm on November 30.
A rolling road closure will also be in place from 5pm on November 30 from the Crown Hotel on Albert Road up to St Bartholomew’s Church to allow the torch-lit procession to take place.
