While town centres are forever changing, it’s no surprise that some of us get attached to our favourite shops, pubs and clubs.

When a place that holds memories for you closes, it can stir up some emotions but what if you had the chance to visit just one more time?

Pubs and clubs in Lancashire have opened and closed over the years and whether you’ve enjoyed a pint or two with your mates or had a hangover-inducing night on the town, there are probably some you were sad to see go.

We asked Lancashire Telegraph readers on Facebook which closed pubs and clubs they’d like to visit one more time if they could – here’s what they said.

A huge response meant there were a lot of pubs and clubs mentioned but some proved more popular than others.

Readers enjoyed sharing their experiences with one saying: “When I think of how amazing Blackburn used to be! Every pub rammed seeing the same faces every week! Lived for my Saturdays!”

Reflecting on how Blackburn has changed over the years, one said: “The whole of Blackburn use to be a cracking night out, never mind any one night club, it was a town where people used to actually get a coach/train into for a night out, the pubs were buzzing. The town died a long time ago, it’s a shame to say … it’s a dump”.

Another reminisced and listed their favourites: “Toffs, Napier, Blakeys, Gibbees, NorthBar, Barzooka, Grapes, Peppermint Place, Times list could go on and on. Blackburn used to be the best night out in the North West! All gone now. It's tragic”.

During the 1980s, the club, also referred to as Peps, would be packed on Friday and Saturday nights and often hosted public appearances by well-known faces including aspiring pop acts and celebrities from TV. It even hosted Hit Man and Her introduced by Pete Waterman and Michaela Strachan.

Monroes was also popular along with The Vulcan and Lodestar among others.

Car Wash nights at Utopia were also mentioned by a handful of readers.
