CareYourWay East Lancashire
Making the decision to have in-home care for a loved one can feel like a big step; choosing the right provider to be a partner in this journey is crucial, with a carer’s role needing to offer both support and independence throughout the family unit. CareYourWay East Lancashire are here to help, ready to provide you or your loved one with excellent-quality care services that suit your needs, with an approach that values the individual above all else.
Directors Callum Ramsey and Sophie Hession are passionate about the standard of care they deliver, always determined to go one step further than the rest to provide the very best they can offer.
As Sophie explains, “Since a young age I have always had a caring nature; I would always offer to go to my grandparents and help them with daily tasks, it was just something I enjoyed. Working in care has always been my passion, from working with dementia patients to helping people with everyday needs. Since becoming a mother and caring for my two children, I decided I wanted to do something more and that’s when I joined CareYourWay.”
With this personal experience to draw upon, it’s little wonder that their person-centred care proves so popular and that their ‘whole service’ ensures that they can provide you and your loved ones with a plan that works best for you.
“We offer a tailored and bespoke care service that is designed around each individual’s needs to promote independence within their own home.” Callum explains, “Because we know they’re happier and more comfortable within their own home. Our focus is on you, your home is where you feel happiest, your place of safety and comfort, so we’re here to help you maintain your independence.”
The amount of options to choose from would certainly back this up. Offering everything from half an hour visits all the way through to live-in care, finding the care plan to suit your family’s needs is of paramount importance to everyone involved. Before anything happens, an assessment would take place to determine the amount of help that’s required; not a general evaluation like ticking things off of a checklist, but an in-depth assessment that takes each individuals circumstances into consideration in order to calculate just how much help is required and then providing it. Not pushing you to take on more than you need, but certainly not offering anything less.
You might be surprised about just how much needs doing, however. As Callum describes, “We get a lot of people who think they want a half an hour visit but might actually need a two-hour slot because of what needs to be done. They may need bathing, feeding, they might have medicine to take, and you just can’t do all of that in half an hour. It’s why an assessment is so important.”
As part of CareYourWay's unwavering commitment to excellence and their mission to transforming lives through outstanding care, one home, one family, and one person at a time, they take immense pride in the tailored, excellent-quality home care services they provide. Every detail of care is entirely bespoke to your wants, needs and wishes. An excellent example of which remains with Callum even now.
“One of our clients used to host a tea party each month; she had tea, coffee, cakes, little sandwiches, until she physically couldn’t do it anymore. It really upset her. So, we started hosting that tea party for her. Our carer would go in, get all the tea and cakes ready, then the family would come round, and all mum had to do was host. They told us that that gave her back so much, that her health improved because she was so positive after implementing it. It’s moments like that that we want to deliver; it’s about finding out what people used to do that they can’t manage anymore, that we can empower them to do with our help.”
This mission of going above and beyond is also found in the community approach they foster, with events such as “Present for a Pensioner” being a big hit as CareYourWay raises funds and delivers hampers to those in the community who may be lonely at Christmastime, and even the occasional “fish-and-chip-Friday” to keep spirits raised.
So, if you’re considering taking that next step to guarantee a comfortable living environment for your family member, with personalised, outstanding-quality care from a provider who will always go one step further than the rest, CareYourWay are ready and waiting to help.
As Sophie puts it, “I feel I can provide the best possible high-quality care to East Lancashire, with a dedicated and passionate team of carers who will be able to care for your loved one’s individual needs.”
