A man has been jailed over a burglary which left a home "trashed and soiled."
Muhammad Ejaz, 22, stole food, clothing, footwear, kitchen knives, and electrical items.
Ejaz, of Linden Crescent, Darwen, pleaded guilty to burglary and possession of two knives in a public place.
When he appeared at Blackburn Magistrates' Court earlier this year, it was heard Ejaz was seen outside by the owner of the house as she left, humming and staring in her direction.
When she returned at around 4pm, she found coats scattered on the floor and the living room had been trashed.
Scott Parker, prosecuting at the time, said: "Grapes had been trodden into the carpet and it was a scene of devastation throughout the house.

"It was committed in a particularly disgusting manner given the ransacking and the soiling of the entire house.
"We are unaware of any reasons for picking on this particular victim."
The lower court also heard from Ejaz's lawyer at the time that the offence seemed to be a cry for help, and that "there are clearly mental health issues."
Ejaz had the case sent to Preston Crown Court, and on Monday (October 28) he was sentenced to 16 months in prison.
