A Nelson man will be sentenced next year after pleading guilty to carrying out a serious assault.
Haroon Fazil, 31, appeared at Burnley Crown Court on Monday (October 29) where he pleaded guilty to the one count.
Fazil, of Camden Street, will remain on bail ahead of a sentencing hearing scheduled for January 29.
Judge Guy Mathieson described the offence as "very serious."
Addressing Fazil, Judge Mathieson said: "There is going to be a pre-sentence report. The court doesn't need a pre-sentence report to sentence you but it will help the court to have as much background information on you as possible.
"An immediate custodial sentence is still a possibility in this case so on January 29 please make sure there are arrangements in place just in case the worst happens."
