A Blackburn site manager has been honoured for his work at a national awards ceremony.

Danny Cato was among the North West's best site managers who were recognised for their quality house-building skills.

The National House Building Council (NHBC) named four regional winners from the North West in its Pride in the Job Awards 2024.

These awards, "considered the Oscars of the house-building industry", celebrate site managers who demonstrate dedication to raising standards in house-building.

The winners were announced at the Kimpton Clocktower Hotel in Manchester on Friday, October 25.

Mr Cato, who works for Kingswood Homes, was recognised for his work on the developer's Green Hills site in Blackburn, picking up the award in the Medium Builder category.

Alongside his category wins, Mr Cato was also awarded a Pride in the Job Seal of Excellence.

Steve Wood, chief executive at NHBC, said: "For more than four decades, Pride in the Job has underpinned NHBC’s purpose of raising standards in house building.

"The competition recognises the UK’s top site managers, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence.

"Winning site managers demonstrate dedication, passion and leadership to ensure new homes are delivered to exacting construction quality standards.

"Congratulations to all the winners.”

Mr Cato will now go on to compete for the Pride in the Job Supreme Awards, the 'ultimate prize in house-building', at a gala ceremony in London in January 2025.

Kingswood's Green Hills development forms part of the major house-building project off Broken Stone Road in Feniscowles.
