Rail services between Preston and Blackburn are experiencing delays and cancellations due to a broken-down train.
Services running through Preston, Lostock Hall, Bamber Bridge, Pleasington, Cherry Tree, Mill Hill, Blackburn, Rishton, Church and Oswaldtwistle, Accrington, Huncoat, Hapton, Rose Grove, Burnley Barracks, Burnley Central, Brierfield, Nelson and Colne have either been cancelled or delayed up to 60 minutes.
Preston to Colne, Preston Ormskirk, and Blackpool North to York are currently unable to run as maintenance teams liaise with the broken-down train to try to rectify the fault.
Trains are unable to run between Preston and Blackburn in both directions.
The first service affected was the 9.25am York to Blackpool North Service which terminated at Blackburn.
The 10.19am service running between Blackpool North and York was delayed at Lostock Hall.
Customers have been urged to use their Northern tickets on board alternative Northern services from Preston via Bolton.
Onward connections to Blackburn can be made from Bolton and onward connections to York can be made at Manchester Victoria.
Compensation is available to those delayed by more than 15 minutes.
