Police have arrested a man after finding drugs in a car in Oswaldtwistle.
Officers went to Harvey Street on Wednesday, and while “most road users” drove in a safe manner, police ordered three drivers to pull over after reportedly speeding.
One driver failed a drug test and police searched a vehicle and found a "quantity of drugs".
A man was arrested and his car was seized.
A police spokesperson said: “On Wednesday, the Hyndburn neighbourhood policing team conducted a road safety operation on Harvey Street, Oswaldtwistle.
“In general most of the road users used the road in a safe manner, however, we stopped three vehicles for speeding with one of the drivers failing a drug test.
“Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered quantity of drugs.
“A male was arrested his car seized and is being dealt with accordingly.
“This is a great example of how operations like this keep our roads safe.
“The dangers of speeding and drink and drug driving are very impactive on peoples' lives and account for a high number of fatalities across the country.
“We have specific areas to target in and around Accrington, these areas have been identified through our local communities and road safety teams.
“We would like to thank the local community for coming forward and providing us with the information regarding speeding concerns, and also thank you for your continued support.
