This amazing picture taken by a local photographer shows the rising moon over Pendle Hill.
Lee Mansfield, a photographer based in Burnley, captured the stunning shot while he was out trying to capture the comet A/2023A.
Lee, an award-winning photographer who was shortlisted in the astronomy photographer of the year awards last year, took the photo from the Singing Ringing Tree on the Pennines overlooking Burnley.
He said he was just over eight miles away from Pendle Hill and took the picture of the 80 per cent moonrise using a 600mm lens.
Lee said: "As I turned around to look over Pendle I could see the tip of the moon rising.
"I quickly turned my camera and tripod around and dialed in my normal moon settings and got the moon rising just above.
"As a keen moon photographer it was great to see the moon rise once again."
Lee said he took the photo last Saturday (October 19) just after 6.30pm.
It was just two days after the UK experienced the Hunter's Moon on Thursday, October 17, with the moon appearing full for around three days after this.
It was the brightest of all the supermoons this year.
A supermoon is when the moon appears bigger than usual due to it being closer to the earth during its orbit.
The next supermoon is the Beaver Moon which will be on Friday, November 15 just before 4.30pm.
It will be the fourth and final supermoon of the year.
