Plans have been approved to convert a derelict barn in a Ribble Valley village into three separate homes.
The plans for the barn at Cockshotts Farm in Stubbins Lane, Sabden, will see it become two two-storey homes each with three bedrooms, and a third three-storey home with four bedrooms.
The ground floor of each property will feature a kitchen, living room and dining rooms, with an inserted staircase up to the first floor, with each bedroom and bathroom situated off a central landing.

A heritage statement submitted to the borough council said: “The proposed development comprises planning and listed building consent application for renovations and alteration to convert the barn and open-fronted structure, which are currently derelict into three residential dwellings.
“The design has sought to limit impacts to the setting of the study site whilst also ensuring appropriate design in terms of massing.”
Before considering the designs, the applicants had an informal meeting with the community to consult on what the village suggested for the future use of Cockshotts Barn as it was no longer suitable for agriculture.
Ideas included a farm shop and offices, but a further statement said there was “overwhelming support” for accommodation “suitable for the local community".
A third-party response received by the council said: “This scheme will positively benefit Sabden by adding what appears to be high-quality and imaginatively redeveloped accommodation to a run-down site which will help lift this part of the village.
“The development is attractive and has been sensitively designed.”

A response from Sabden Parish Council was also in approval, saying the design is “sympathetic to the area and will be an improvement".
Ribble Valley Council approved the plans subject to various conditions and said work should begin on the site within the next three years.
