A Ribble Valley-based renewable energy business has announced two new hires due to the demand for sustainable power greatly increasing.
Green Shield Group, which provides green energy to companies through solar, wind and battery technology, is based in Ribchester and is aiming to fulfil the growing calls for renewable energy.
The already 16-strong team, which helps businesses across the UK reduce carbon emissions and cut energy costs, has hired David Summerfield as its new commercial director and Phil Walker as a designer.
Jonathan Harrison, Green Shield's managing director, said: "As we enter our fourth year since launching Green Shield Group, we feel the business is entering its next growth phase.
“The announcement of several large projects has allowed us to expand rapidly.
“We have a solid team supporting us, and we look forward to fully harnessing these new team members’ skills in the coming months."
David, who was previously a sales director of an international battery firm, has experience in the commercial battery energy storage sector.
He holds extensive links with commercial and military operations throughout the UK - a key growth area for Green Shield Group.
David said: "The business landscape is changing at a rapid pace; harnessing a variety of sustainable technologies is pivotal for UK businesses to successfully navigate sustainability responsibly.
“Green Shield Group is already well positioned as an ambassador for green transformation, and I've joined to assist in making additional technologies even more accessible."
Phil Walker has joined to expand the internal technical expertise and delivery team.
He has more than 15 years of experience, with extensive knowledge of technical design.
Having previously worked in fire detection, he knows the importance of sustainability and its role in the future of UK business.
Phil said: "Sustainability and technology have always been personal passions; I'm excited to integrate these values into my role here at Green Shield Group.
“Through design and strategic marketing, I'm looking forward to communicating the importance of clean energy while supporting the company's mission to help businesses reduce their carbon footprint and embrace renewable technologies."
