Police are warning drivers of disruption along the M65 Westbound due to a road traffic collision and vehicle fire.
Lane one of the carriageways is currently closed and it is expected to remain so for some time with slow traffic also expected.
It is closed between Junction 13 at Scotland Road, Nelson and Junction 14 at the Boundary Mill Roundabout.
Lancashire Constabulary are advising drivers to look for an alternative route and will update drivers once they know more.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “Lane 1 of M65 Westbound between junctions 13 and 14 is currently closed due to a road traffic collision and vehicle fire.
“We anticipate that the lane will be closed for some time. We’d recommend looking for an alternative route. We’ll update you here once we know more.”
