An air ambulance and mountain rescue team was called to a quarry in Bacup, on October 17.
The team was called by the ambulance service to help with an incident in Lee Mill Quarry.
A mountain biker had fallen and suffered a bad lower leg injury.
The person was treated before being transported to the air ambulance, to be taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for the mountain rescue team said: “On October 17, the team were contacted by the North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust (NWAS) to assist with an incident in Lee Mill Quarry, Bacup.
“A mountain biker had taken a bad fall and suffered a nasty lower leg injury. Whilst team members were deployed, the North West Air Ambulance Charity (NWAA) also made its way to the location, landing as our initial team members were making their way up into the quarry.
“The casualty was treated by the NWAA medics before being carried a short distance to the air ambulance for onwards transportation to hospital. “
