It’s hard to believe that we are a mere three weeks away from Bonfire Night - where does the time go?
To get everyone into the bonfire spirit, we have been into the archives and dug out these great photos showing some of the big civic bonfires in the 1990s.
In Blackburn, Witton Park was the main venue with hundreds of people attending the bonfire and firework display often organised by Blackburn Rotaract.
But families enjoyed similar displays all over East Lancashire including in Darwen and Barrowford, both of which are featured in this selection.
If you went along to an organised bonfire event in the Nineties, take a look at these photos. It may be dark but perhaps you can spot yourself in the glow from the bonfires.
If you have any photos of large-scale events in East Lancashire, we’d love to share them with Looking Back readers.
