Aldi is urging children across East Lancashire to design posters for Recycle Week.
The supermarket chain is inviting youngsters to create eye-catching designs to inspire others to recycle, with a grand prize of a £250 Aldi voucher for their family up for grabs.
The winning entries will be judged by Aldi's 'sustainability experts' and proudly displayed at Aldi's UK headquarters to motivate colleagues to recycle.
This initiative is part of Aldi's commitment to promoting sustainable shopping habits and reducing single-use plastic.
It also forms part of the 'Get Set to Eat Fresh' programme by Aldi, Team GB, and ParalympicsGB, which seeks to develop young people's interest in healthy, sustainable food.
Luke Emery, national sustainability director at Aldi, said: "At Aldi, we are constantly reviewing ways to reduce excess plastic and packaging, and this competition aims to educate children on the importance of recycling.
"We hope it inspires the next generation to embrace small changes that can make a big difference to the planet, and we look forward to receiving a diverse range of entries."
Parents and teachers can submit children's poster designs on A4 paper (portrait) via email to aldicompetitions@citypress.co.uk.
Entries opened on Monday, October 14, 2024, and close on Friday, November 8, 2024.
