There are heavy delays on the A56 this evening (October 16).
One lane is closed on the A56 northbound between junction one of the M66 and the A682 near Edenfield. This is due to a broken down heavy goods vehicle.
National Highways has warned motorists to expect delays of 50 minutes. There is around five miles of congestion.”
A National Highways spokesperson said: “Lane one is closed on the A56 northbound between junction one of the M66 and the A682 near Edenfield due to a broken down heavy goods vehicle.
“National Highways traffic officers are on scene [as well as] vehicle recovery. There are currently delays of 50 mins and approx. Five miles of congestion.”
