There are "severe" delays of around 50 minutes on the M65 this morning due to an earlier crash.
Traffic was being held between J3 at Riley Green and J2 at the interchange with the M61 following the incident at around 8am.
This has now been released but National Highways say there are residual delays of around 50 minutes and up to six miles of congestion.
Lancashire Police said those involved in the two-car crash suffered minor injuries.
No details of the cars involved were available.
A spokesperson said: "Traffic has been released and all lanes are reopened on the M65 westbound between J3 Riley Green and J2 M61 following an earlier collision.
"There are 50 min residual delays above normal travel time with 6 miles congestion."
A spokesperson for AA Traffic added: "Severe delays due to earlier crash on M65 Westbound from J3 A674 Chorley Road (Blackburn West / Wheelton) to J2 M61 J9 (Clayton Brook).
"Congestion to J4 (Darwen). All lanes have been re-opened after being held for around 10 minutes."
