The garage in a three-bedroomed Blackburn house could become a dog grooming parlour under new plans.
Tara Finn wants to convert the annexe in Thistle Trail, Livesey, into a space for pooch pampering.
She has applied to Blackburn with Darwen Council for planning permission for the change.
Her proposal follows the authority approving a similar garage to dog grooming salon scheme at a bungalow in Harbour Lane, Edgworth, last month.
A supporting statement with Mrs Finn's application says: "The application site comprises a detached, three bed, two-storey dwellinghouse with integral garage.
"It has a part lawned/ part paved front garden, providing off-street parking for three vehicles, and a rear garden.
"The applicant would like to offer a small-scale pet grooming service, partly as a part-time home business and partly as a hobby.
"She intends to use the property’s existing integral garage, which is no longer used for parking vehicles.
"The applicant intends to groom four dogs on an average day, she intends to work four to five days a week on average.
"The operating hours (when she is working) will not be outside of 9am to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
"The following equipment will be installed in the converted garage: bath with shower head, hair dryer, and hair clippers.
"Some of the pets will be taken to the premises on foot, others will be dropped off by car.
"There will be a gap between clients so there will not be any congestion caused by a cross-over of arrivals and pickups.
"There will only be one person (the applicant) and one pet in the grooming area at any one time.
"There is no encroachment on the main part of the house, which will remain entirely in residential use.
"Only the garage will be converted, representing a small proportion of the floorspace of the main property and no loss of habitable space.
"There will be no business signage on the front of the building.
"There will be no employees and the only visitors to the premises will be clients dropping off and collecting pets.
"There would be parking spaces retained at the front of the property to easily accommodate car parking for less than five minutes to collect or drop off a pet. "
