Two Burnley health professionals and a medical reception team have made to the finals to this year’s General Practice Awards.
The Awards which will take place in London on December 6 celebrate the best examples of "innovation, dedication and teamwork" in primary care.
Dr Yasara Naheed is shortlisted in the GP of the Year category while advanced physiotherapy practitioner, Gillian Lawrence who works for the primary care physio team in Hyndburn has been nominated in the "Extended Team Member" category.
The Yorkshire Street Medical Centre reception team have been named in Reception Team of the Year finalists list too.
Gillian said: ‘I am blown away to have been nominated and then shortlisted for this award. It is great to have three nominations from East Lancashire chosen to represent the very best in primary care.
“We will be flying the flag for East Lancashire at an event that is an amazing celebration of all the hard work that general practice does in serving their patients and communities. Good luck to all the nominations.”
The General Practice Awards, supported by Pulse and Nursing in Practice, are a national celebration for those working in primary care and general practice in the UK. They honour the work of individuals and teams from across the country.
