Two teenagers have been charged with a dozen burglary offences said to have taken place across East Lancashire following a police pursuit of two allegedly stolen cars.
On Tuesday, October 8, Greater Manchester Police arrested seven people, two of which have since been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.
Bradley Fogarty, 19, of School Lane, Guide, and Tyler Dawson, 18, of Hodder Grove, Darwen, have both been charged and appeared at Blackburn Magistrates' Court today, October 11, where they were both bailed with conditions.
Following the alleged offences, Lancashire Police are urging residents to take proactive measures to protect their vehicles.
To assist residents in safeguarding their vehicles and property, Lancashire Police have provided this advice:
- Keep the keys as far away from the car as possible and preferably in a Faraday bag or tin foil to stop the thieves using a relay device.
- Using immobilisers on your vehicles.
- Consider anti-snap locks or security bars for your patio, french or bi-fold doors.
- Consider security lighting and/or CCTV around your property.
If you witness any suspicious behaviour or incidents, residents are urged to report them promptly. For non-emergency situations please contact 101.
