A man taken ill in a car park in Clitheroe had to be airlifted to hospital.
Emergency services were called on Thursday afternoon to assist the man who was taken ill in the Booths car park in the town.
North West Ambulance Service requested the assistance of the North West Air Ambulance team due to his condition.
Lancashire Police were also asked to attend the castle grounds to assist with clearing the playing field of people whilst the helicopters were landing and taking off.
There were two helicopters in attendance for the incident.
The man was transported by helicopter to hospital where he remains and is receiving care.
A Ribble Valley police spokesperson said: "Just a thank you to everyone who was in the park at the time and showed us patience and understanding whilst we closed off the area to let the paramedics deliver treatment."
