A Blackburn bowling club has donated £1,400 to two worthy causes including the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.

Dugdale Memorial Bowling Club hosted their annual fundraising day on Sunday, September 8, raising funds for Prostate Cancer UK and ELHT&Me, the official charity of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.

Each year, the Dugdale Memorial Bowling Club's fundraising event supports charities.

Last year, they chose to support ELHT&Me with funds benefitting the breast cancer service.

This year the event featured a raffle and tombola with prizes generously donated by members and other bowling clubs in the Darwen and Blackburn area.

Businesses from Blackburn also contributed by providing food and refreshments throughout the day, helping to keep spirits high despite the challenging weather.

The club collected £1,400, with £400 going to Prostate Cancer UK and £1,000 to ELHT&Me.
