Blackburn with Darwen Police have issued another dispersal order in Darwen after reports of anti-social behaviour.

There was a significant level of disturbance to members of the public in the town centre and will be in place until 11:59pm tonight.

The order, known as a section 34, gives officers the power to disperse anyone for or reducing the likelihood of members of the public being harassed, alarmed, distressed or the occurrence of crime and disorder.

Police imposed the same order on Sunday following a spate of incidents and stayed in place until 1am on Monday morning.

A police spokesperson said: “We have had reports of anti-social behaviour in the town centre area, which has caused a significant level of disturbance to members of the public trying to go about their day.

“The section 34 powers will be in place from 3pm until 11:59pm tonight.

“We have an obligation to tell you about these powers in place.”
