This week has seen several East Lancashire criminals put behind bars for offences ranging from assaults to robbery.

The longest sentence saw a Burnley woman who robbed one of her former carers put away for four years.

Here, we bring you a round-up of all the criminals banged up in the region throughout the week.

Kristian King

Kristian King, 33, of Broadfield Road, Accrington, was sentenced at Blackburn Magistrates' Court on Monday, September 30.

He was arrested and charged with theft from a motor vehicle, criminal damage to a vehicle, and three counts of theft from a shop.

He was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison and was ordered to pay £413 in compensation.

Rebecca Oxley

Rebecca OxleyRebecca Oxley (Image: Lancashire Police) Rebecca Oxley, 49, of no fixed address, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court Sessions House on Monday, September 30.

Oxley, previously of addresses in Nelson and Burnley, robbed Ann Chippendale on Parliament Street, Burnley, of around £3.

Ms Chippendale, now in her late 70s, previously cared for Oxley when she was in the psychiatric ward at Burnley General Hospital.

Oxley said she intended to rob Ms Chippendale and use the cash to buy drugs.

She was jailed for four years by Judge Graham Knowles.

Connor Doyle

Connor DoyleConnor Doyle (Image: Lancashire Police) Connor Doyle, 41, of Nook Terrace, Blackburn, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court Sessions House on Monday, September 30.

Doyle caused around £20,000 worth of damage to Edmondson's home furniture shop in Darwen Street, Blackburn, between June 29 and July 1 this year by stealing lead from the roof.

This caused the shopfloor to become flooded during heavy rain and all the carpets in the store having to be replaced.

Later in July, Doyle also entered an insurance company building in Preston Old Road and stole copper piping and a chainsaw, worth around £500 and £300 respectively.

Judge Graham Knowles sentenced him to one year and seven months in prison, minus around nine weeks spent on remand.

Mohammed Tasib

Mohammed TasibMohammed Tasib (Image: Lancashire Police) Mohammed Tasib, 48, of Pringle Street, Blackburn, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court on Tuesday, October 1.

Tasib used his slipper to beat his son after he had become embarrassed when other neighbourhood parents approached him about his son's behaviour.

When his wife tried to intervene in the beating, he began to hit her on the back of the head with the slipper.

He was described by Recorder Ayesha Siddiqi as a "nasty bully" while Tasib himself said in a letter to the court he had never committed an offence before, despite having a previous conviction for battery against his wife.

He was sentenced to two years and six months in prison.

Reece Waring

Reece WaringReece Waring (Image: Lancashire Police) "Dangerous, remorseless" Reece Waring, 24, of Fernlea Close, Blackburn, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court on Friday, October 4.

Waring struck up a relationship with a woman on Snapchat using a phone he illegally possessed while in prison serving a four-year sentence for robbery.

While out on licence the relationship continued but he had become jealous and the final straw came on April 5 when he assaulted his partner when she arrived back from a night out.

He beat her, strangled her, and bit her ear, leading to her barricading herself inside her bedroom to keep him away - though he managed to kick down the door and continue the assault.

He also took £15 cash from her purse.

Judge Richard Archer described him as a "dangerous young man."

He was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison.
