Police are investigating a knife attack which occurred yesterday evening in Blackpool.
Officers attended the scene at Squires Gate Lane to the report of an assault and found a man in his 30s had suffered stab injuries.
He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
Blackpool Police believe that the incident was a targeted attack and there is no wider threat to the public.
The road is currently closed between Starrgate and Stoney Hill Avenue and they are urging residents to avoid the area.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said: “You might have seen police activity in the Squires Gate area and we want to tell you why.
“We were called at 6.59pm yesterday to Squires Gate Lane, Blackpool, to a report of an assault.
“Our officers attended and found that a man in his 30s had been assaulted and suffered stab injuries.
“He was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he is being treated.
“We believe this was a targeted attack and there is no wider threat to the public.”
