A video has emerged of bags of rubbish that have been dumped in a Blackburn alleyway.
The council has vowed to investigate the fly tipping and aim to catch those responsible.
A Lancashire Telegraph Camera Club member posted a video anonymously, which shows several bags of rubbish in an alleyway between Hollin Bridge Street and Exeter Street.
The bags appear to have been torn open and the contents of the bags have been strewn across the floor.
The council said the incident was not reported to them but says it will now take action.
The bags will be checked for evidence of who may have left them. Nearby CCTV will also be checked.
Tony Watson, head of environment at Blackburn with Darwen Council, said: “The most recent fly-tipping around Hollin Street and Exeter Street has not been reported to us previously.
“However now we are aware of the issue, our environmental crime officer will be checking the fly-tipped bags for evidence of who may have left them, so we are able to pursue issuing a prosecution to the relevant person/s.
“We also have a camera in the locality so will be checking the footage as part of our investigations.
“Fly-tipping is a serious matter and will not be taken lightly. You can report fly-tipping by contacting our environmental crime team at envirocrime@blackburn.gov.uk.”
