Police have made some arrests after finding a ‘chop shop’ in Blackpool and Preston.

This is after a spate of Land Rover and Range Rover thefts in Lancashire.

On Saturday, September 28, police found two sites containing stolen vehicles.  One site was at Plumpton Grange, Preston, and the other at Bambers Lane North, Blackpool.

Police arrested two men, aged 26 and 36, and three women aged 25, 31 and 57, on suspicion of theft of motor vehicles and handling stolen goods.

They have all been bailed pending further enquiries.

A police spokesperson said: “Last week we let you know about organised car thieves targeting Land Rovers and Range Rovers in the Lancashire area, and we now have an update to bring you.

“On Saturday, September 28, with the help of two members of the public updating us with their GPS device locations in their stolen vehicles, we uncovered two sites containing stolen cars that were being dismantled.

“One site was at Plumpton Grange, Preston, and the other at Bambers Lane North, Blackpool.

“We arrested two men, aged 26 and 36, and three women aged 25, 31 and 57, on suspicion of theft of motor vehicles and handling stolen goods.

“They have all been bailed pending further enquiries.”
