Padiham Town Hall is preparing to host a day party of throwback dance classics for the over 30s.
Organised by Owen Lewis and Perry Marco, the event wants to encourage ravers of a certain age to dust off the cobwebs and relive their younger years in a night of DJs dropping the biggest tunes of the 1980s and 1990s.
Running between 3pm and 9pm on November 16, the event hopes to ensure that punters are in bed before 10pm.
Owen said: “There is going to be 80s and 90s DJs and headliners; really it is just a disco for over 30s and the older generation.
"They don’t like going out at night so we bringing it forward a little bit so they can get into bed at 10 o'clock.
“I have worked in nightclubs and stuff like that, it is all R&B now for the younger crowd and we thought we would bring something back for the over 30s with live music and proper DJs.”
Having already run Bingo That’s Bonkers, a bingo night with a range of party games and unique prizes, Owen realised there was a demand for over 30s nights.
Owen added: “We are trying to broaden our horizons.
"With us doing the bingo events we have a lot of connections with the wider community, whereas other bingo companies cater for the younger age range, our bingo is going from 30 plus and we have even had someone come who is 91.
“We thought we might as well do something else to cater for that age range as well.”
There will be plenty of opportunities for those hoping to get back on the dancefloor with events in Colne at the end of November and Clitheroe in December.
The Colne event will offer a wider range of music options with more 80s and 90s bands rather than DJs.
Tickets can be purchased on Fatsoma under the name That’s Bonkers Over 30s Day Rave.
Line of Duty star Vicky McClure threw a similar event in Norwich last week, saying she and her husband get a huge buzz from their daytime discos.
