A former Accrington model who now works as a radio presenter has written a new children’s book which he hopes will help celebrate different cultures.
Nadeem Ahmed, who grew up in Lancashire, now lives in London and has written 'The Travel Adventures of Momo and Coco,' a collection of 10 short bedtime stories.
Momo’s character is based on Nadeem’s nephew Muhammed, who was always requesting stories at bedtime.
Nadeem, an avid traveller, told his nephew stories based on his own experiences. Coco is the name of the new family pet, a white fluffy blue-eyed cat.
Nadeem said: “The purpose of this book is to educate readers about some of the most beautiful places in the world in a simplified manner.
"Throughout their adventures, Momo and Coco encounter various characters from history and modern day, including a pharaoh and the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
“In this era of prevalent segregation, I believe it is crucial to spread positivity through the medium of a colourful book.
"This book will showcase diverse cultures, individuals, and languages, all interwoven with a touch of magic.”
The synopsis to the book reads: "All the way from Accrington in Lancashire, Momo and his trusty companion Coco the cat, embark on some magical and exciting adventures around the world including London, Paris, Egypt, Dubai, and India to name a few.
"You can expect flying carpets, visits from the ancient past, delicious food and much, much more.
"Immerse yourself in their imaginative and creative world full of joy and mystical treasures.
"Ten short bedtime stories transporting you to beautiful places including dreamland as your final stop."
A model, Nadeem made his name presenting travel films, lifestyle features and documentaries across local, national and international television and radio. He now works as a host on Sunrise Radio.
Nadeem added: “I feel very proud of having completed this book. It has been a lot of hard work but truly rewarding too.
"Writing the book has transported me to some of my beautiful travel destinations. No doubt you will enjoy the escapes in the comfort of your own bed too.”
‘The Travel Adventures of Momo and Coco’ is published on October 25.
