Former Hollyoaks actress, Gemma Atkinson, says she has been inundated with messages about her partner, Gorka Márquez, and the outfit he wore on Strictly Come Dancing.
On Saturday night (September 28), Gorka took to the dancefloor with dance partner Punam Krishan wearing a mesh top and striking black leather trousers. They danced the foxtrot to Shania Twain song, Man! I Feel Like A Woman!
His outfit caught the attention of social media users, especially on X, formerly known as Twitter, where his name was trending.
His fiancee, and president of Edenfield-based Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, Gemma said she has received messages from fans about Gorka’s pants. She likened him to Friends character, Ross, who also wears leather trousers in an episode.
“I have had lots of messages about Gorka’s pants on Strictly. I have not seen it yet.
"Oh those pleathers [plastic fabric that is made to look like leather]. He’s like Ross from friends.”
One social media user said: “Gorka! That outfit and Shania are a match made in heaven.”
Another said: “Catching up on Strictly. Gorka’s trousers. That’s it. That’s the tweet.”
A third social media user said: “Catching up on Strictly. Thank you wardrobe for putting Gorka the corker in that outfit.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to our screens tonight, on BBC One, at 7.15pm. Viewers will have to tune in to see if Gorka and his partner are saved from elimination.
