Police caught dozens of cars speeding in an hour, on a notorious road in Nelson.
Officers have been conducting speed checks on the road after receiving reports of speeding vehicles.
In an hour, 229 vehicles were checked and 65 were found to be speeding.
The highest speed recorded was 48mph, on the 20mph road.
All offending vehicles will be issued with a warning.
Officers are also set to check surrounding roads, Barkerhouse Road and Townhouse Road, which have also received speeding complaints.
A police spokesperson said: “The local neighbourhood policing team has been conducting speed checks along Walton Lane in the recent weeks due to ongoing reports of speeding vehicles.
“In just one hour a total of 229 vehicles were checked and 65 speeders were recorded, the highest speed 48mph.
“We attended with the community road watch unit, and all the offending vehicles will be issued with warnings. Just a reminder that the speed limit is 20mph.
“We are looking at resourcing similar checks on surrounding roads, Barkerhouse Road and Townhouse Road as a priority due to the number of reports we have been receiving from local residents.”
