The M66 was closed this afternoon due to a multi-vehicle crash between Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
Emergency services were in attendance between J1 and the A56/A680 and the A676 earlier this afternoon following the crash near Edenfield.
The road was closed for a significant portion of the afternoon with delays of around 10 minutes heading north.
Lancashire Police were contacted for information but a spokesperson said it was a matter for Greater Manchester Police (GMP).
GMP are yet to respond.
North West Ambulance Service were unable to provide any further information.
